The U.S. Postal Service is celebrating its 250th anniversary with the release of two new stamp issues. One is an exclusive booklet titled 'Putting a Stamp on the American Experience', which highlights the cultural significance of stamps and includes a self-adhesive stamp featuring Benjamin Franklin. The second release, '250 Years of Delivering', features artwork by cartoonist Chris Ware and showcases various postal items across different seasons. The U.S. Postal Service has dedicated a new series of Forever stamps featuring picturesque dahlias at the WESTPEX Stamp Show. These stamps showcase the vibrant colors and diversity of dahlias, which are part of the Asteraceae family and have a rich history dating back to their cultivation by the Aztecs in Mexico. The U.S. Postal Service dedicated its new Powwows: Celebrating Native American Culture stamps during a ceremony at the Gathering of Nations, the largest powwow in the U.S., attended by over 100,000 people. The event included speeches from Postal Service officials and artists, highlighting the importance of honoring Native American culture through stamp designs that reflect the vibrancy and significance of powwows in Indigenous communities. On April 16, 2025, the U.S. Postal Service, in collaboration with the National Park Service, held a dedication ceremony for the new Forever stamps commemorating the Battlefields of the American Revolution at Minute Man National Historical Park. The stamps celebrate the 250th anniversary of American independence, honoring the sacrifices made by heroes during the Revolutionary War.
