The Ju-87 Stuka dive bomber might be one of the most famous bombers of WWII. It has been the main force in the ground support of the Air Force since the start of the Blitzkrieg. The Ju-87D is the most important series of the Stuka family, and the type Ju-87D-5 is the last dive bomber version. Extra armor was fitted under the fuselage and the guns in the wing were replaced by two MG 151 20mm anti-tank guns. The Ju-87D-5 first saw action in July 1943 in the Battle of Kursk.
