This is a 1/72 scale MRC/Academy plastic model kit of the Curtiss P-40E Warhawk. In numbers, the P-40 ranked as the third most-produced American fighter aircraft of WWII, with 15,000 units produced. The P-40E, armed with six 0.5-inch wing machine guns, was used extensively as a low-altitude close-support fighter. Numerous units were exported to the Allied air forces, among which, 1,500 served the RAF as P-40E Kittyhawk Mk 1A. and were deployed in Northern Africa against the German Luftwaffe. The kit features fully engraved panel lines and surface details, The highly detailed cockpit and landing gear bay can be shown with an open canopy or open/closed doors. An impressive decal sheet and comprehensive painting instructions give the modeler a choice of finishing the kit in one of two USAAF or one RAAF configurations.
