Ifni Lot

Ifni, a former Spanish territory on Morocco’s Atlantic coast, is centered on Sidi Ifni, where Amazigh heritage meets architectural traces of Spanish rule. Its coastal setting brings mild temperatures, ocean breezes, and an arid landscape shaped by the nearby Anti-Atlas mountains. Spain administered the territory before returning it to Morocco in 1969, following a history that included the Ifni War of 1957–1958. Today, Sidi Ifni’s fishing traditions, distinctive buildings, and surrounding Aït Baamrane communities preserve the area’s layered cultural identity.
