Gilbert Islands Lot
The Gilbert Islands are a chain of 16 coral atolls in the central Pacific, forming the principal island group of modern Kiribati. Their predominantly I-Kiribati communities speak Gilbertese, also called te taetae ni Kiribati, and maintain traditions rooted in seafaring and communal life. The islands have a tropical oceanic climate, with low-lying landscapes shaped by lagoons, trade winds, and variable rainfall. Formerly part of the British Gilbert and Ellice Islands colony, they are associated with notable figures such as Kiribatiās first president, Ieremia Tabai.
