Horses appeared for the first time in Japan in the late fourth and early fifth centuries. They were brought from the continent and were highly valued. Only the noble samurais (bushi) were taught to ride and apply archery, swordcraft, spear skills and every art of weaponless combat.  Pieces are suitable for use with the Zvezda Age of Battles expandable board game.
