This is an Academy 1/144 scale plastic model kit. The McDonnell-Douglas F-4 Phantom was the first fighter jet with the ability to track and attack targets within its radar range without the assistance of ground-based radar systems. The F-4E Phantom II is a tandem two-seat, twin-engined, all-weather, long-range supersonic jet interceptor fighter/fighter-bomber originally developed for the U.S. Navy. Proving highly adaptable, it became a major part of the air wings of the United States Navy, Marine Corps, and U.S. Air Force. It was used extensively by all three of these services during the Vietnam War, as the principal air superiority fighter for both the Navy and Air Force, as well as being critical in ground attack and reconnaissance roles. This Academy kit is easy to assemble and has a low parts count. Engraved panel lines, missiles, and drop tanks add to the authenticity of this aircraft along with an accurate decal sheet.
