This is the acclaimed MRC/Academy CH/HH-46D Sea Knight “U.S. Navy Version” 1/48 scale plastic model kit. This spectacular Navy rescue helicopter, straight off the deck of the USS Camden is uniquely decorated with Stars and Stripes decals, complex to design, yet easy to apply… to make this the most striking collectible of MRC’s twin-rotor series. Modelers can also apply three other included paint and very colorful decal schemes: HH-46 Marines SOMS Kaneohe Bay April 1982, N.A.S. Pt. Magu October 1989 and the HC-8 “Dragon Whales” of Det-2 Norfolk Naval Air Station. In keeping with MRC/Academy’s tradition of pinpoint accuracy, the hub and rotor assemblies are ultra-finely detailed. Naturally, the cockpit is amazingly realistic, but this model is unique with its incredible interior completely detailed from the cockpit all the way back to the rear loading door. The Sea Knight can be built with an open or closed rear loading ramp. This will surely be the pride of place in any Navy helicopter collection.
