Noteworthy Mentions — 2018 World Cup

Robert Lewandowski, a Polish professional soccer player, who plays as a striker for Bundesliga club Bayern Munich and serves as captain of the Poland national team is featured on Poland's postage stamp.  The stamp has his face, name and the "RL9" acronym of his initials and team number with an expected rollout of five million copies. Lewandowski is competing in the 2018 World Cup as the Bundesliga's top scorer for 2017/18 with 29 goals. He was also the top scorer in Europe's 2018 World Cup qualifier giving Poland's ranking of 10th in the world.
