It's Old-Fashioned
You don't hear too many great stories about stamp collecting. The popularity of social media from Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, and Snapchat have all but dominated the desires and attention of the Millenials.
These days sending letters or postcards in the mail have become old-fashioned that left people with the impression that stamps are plain pieces of gummed-up, “old” paper that gave them little incentive or fun unlike the social media posts, photos and pins you find when someone comments or direct messages you on your post.
Don't Forget To Pin, Post, and Tweet
The “experience” just isn’t there to make you want to wake up in the morning, read fun and interesting things, or stay up late at night and share it with the people you know.
But for those of us that collect stamps, there's a story to be told. It’s a story that’s muted because there’s so little news or excitement that comes from stamp collecting.
Here’s one story from CNBC of how once a stamp collector became a billionaire and the lessons he learned from the hobby. Read the CNBC story here.
I hope the CNBC article inspires the devoted and would-be stamp collectors of this generation and the generations to come.
