The United States Postal Service Announces Stamp Withdrawals
The United States Postal Service (USPS) has declared that effective September 30, 2023, eight stamp issues from 2018 to 2024 will be withdrawn from regular sale. This decision impacts stamp collectors and enthusiasts who may be interested in acquiring these items from post offices, stations, branches, postal stores, and vending outlets.
The affected stamps include notable issues such as the 2018 $5 Statue of Freedom (Scott 5297), the 2023 John Lewis stamp (5801), and the 2023 Life Magnified pane of 20 (5802). Collectors should also note the withdrawal of the upcoming 2024 stamps: Bluegrass (5844), Carnival Nights (5855-5864), Protect Sea Turtles (5865-5870), Horses (5891-5895), and Autumn Colors (5929-5938).
Stamp collectors are encouraged to acquire these items before the withdrawal date, as they may become more sought after once they are no longer available for sale.
