Dansco Coin Albums have been a longtime companion for both expert numismatists and beginning coin collectors. The Sacagawea Dollars 2000 to 2023 Dansco Album comes in a 5/8" binder and holds up to 48 coins. The album has 3 Dansco pages (series: 7183-1 to 7183-2), each one holding and displaying all Sacagawea dollars minted from 2000 to 2023. Glenna Goodacre's design was selected after a national competition contest. The artist's obverse design had a portrait of a young Native American Soshone carrying her infant son. The reverse showed a flying eagle designed by engraver Thomas D. Rogers Sr. Commonly known as "golden dollars," Sacagawea coins have a plain edge and a very shiny golden color as a distinct contrast from previous coins. In 2009, The Native American $1 Coin Act mandated three new reverse designs for the Sacagawea coins. These coins had for the first time the year of minting and mintmark struck on the edge. Sacagawea dollars have a pure copper inner core and an outer layer made of 77% copper, 12% zinc, 7% manganese and 4% nickel. The coins measure 26.5 mm in diameter and each weighs 8.1 grams. Sacagawea dollars were coined at the Philadelphia, Denver and San Francisco Mints. Dansco Coin Albums have their pages attached with metal screws, making it easy to add and replace. Dansco#: 7183.
