Dansco Coin Albums have been a longtime companion for both expert numismatists and beginning coin collectors. The Liberty Seated Quarters 1838-1891 Dansco Album comes in a 7/8" binder and holds up to 120 coins. The album has 5 Dansco pages (series: 6142-1 to 6142-5), each one holding and displaying all Liberty Seated quarters minted from 1838-1891. From 1873-1874 two small arrows were added to the obverse of the Liberty Seated quarters, which were meant to indicate an increased weight of the coins. In 1873, however, 4,000 quarters were supposedly struck without the arrows. So far, only 5 of these coins are known to have survived. As such, the 1873-CC "No Arrows" type is extremely rare. Early Liberty Seated quarters weigh 6.68 grams. From 1853-1873 their weight was adjusted to 6.22 grams and, after the addition of the arrows on the obverse in 1873, their weight changed to 6.25 grams. Liberty Seated quarters are made of 90% silver and 10% copper and measure 24.3 mm in diameter. Dansco Coin Albums have their pages attached with metal screws, making it easy to add and replace.
